Our three beautiful holiday cottages are located in Domme, the most majestic part of the Dordogne, just 15 minutes from the medieval city of Sarlat...
Both Cote du Grel and Les Papillons gites are beautiful stone cottages, each with a private balcony with views across the forest covered hills.
Les Hirondelles is a large single storey cottage inspired by the old tobacco barns of the region.
Each gite has its own garden or terrace area with a BBQ and outdoor lighting, allowing you to soak up the peaceful countryside surroundings, and starlit skies, in total privacy.
We live next-door so we are always available if you need any information, but we won't disturb you, unless asked.
A cot and high chair is available on request, and the pool is fitted with a safety alarm.
Dogs are welcome, but please let us know in advance. We have large fields behind the property to play ball games, and the grounds are enclosed with a wire fence. Most restaurants are dog friendly, and have outdoor seating.
There is a very nice woodland footpath from Taire du Grel to Domme, as well as a booklet of maps in the gite, showing lots of other walks nearby.
The Swimming Pool looks out over the orchard lawn, and is surrounded by sun loungers and parasols. Inflatables and ball games are permitted, and the pool is fitted with a safety alarm.
The Children's Play Area includes swings, a tyre monster, a large trampoline with enclosure, badminton and a ping-pong table.
The Honesty Shop is opposite the pool, selling snacks, drinks, ice creams, and some other essentials, for your convenience.
The Laundry Room is shared between the gites, with a small charge per cycle, and a washing line in the garden of each gite.
We have a selection of children's and adult's bicycles available for our guests to use, with a very small daily charge to cover maintenance costs. A baby seat, and a universal bike rack are also available. There is a booklet of nearby cycle routes in the gite.
Canoes and Kayaks can be hired on-site in the summer months, with a door to door service, taking you from the gite to the river Dordogne. Paddle at your leisure, stop off a the beaches and villages along the way. When you're ready, all you have to do is call to be picked up from a designated collection point downstream, and we'll bring you back to the gite.
Just 3 minutes by car, 7 minutes on bike, or 18-20 minutes on foot. Here you will find all of the essentials at your fingertips: Bars, cafes and restaurants, tourist boutiques, a small Vival supermarket, an ATM, and a post office.
The medieval village of Domme is a tourist attraction in itself, being officially classed as one of 'The Most Beautiful Villages of France'. It offers a magnificent 180 degree view point across the Dordogne valley, a stalactite cave system with a glass lift looking out over the river, tours of the medieval gate towers which imprisoned the Knights Templars, beautiful public gardens, and footpaths around the medieval walls.
Other popular nearby tourist attractions include Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, Chateau Beynac, Les Jardins de Marqueyssac, Lascaux, and La Gouffre de Padirac, as well as many, many more.
